There are some things that are just hard, often impossible to figure out how to accomplish.
Like how to fold a fitted sheet.
Before eventually giving up — thankfully — realizing creases are OK, nobody’s looking and you simply ball it up and put it in the linens drawer.
With impunity and mostly free of guilt. (Sorry, mom.)
Which is all well and good until sheet changing day arrives, and you always fit one corner on, then realize you’re attempting to fit the short end lengthwise over your mattress. Therefore having to start all over.
More to the point, here’s what else is difficult to figure out: How during the hazy lazy daze of summer to keep these engagements coming between yours truly and you, his Cardinal obsessive fan base.
The athletic year is over, not to return for another couple months.
Even Glorious Editor has to spread his wings during this fallow time of the college sports cycle.
Sure, there are a few U of L-centric issues to ponder.
Is Mouhamed Camara ever going to make it stateside, now that the muckety mucks in charge of bestowing visas seem to have put his home country Senegal on the No No List?
Or, why at theathletic.com’s Top 25 pigskinners in the ACC list, only one Cardinal is deemed worthy. Isaac Brown at #11?
At the Chron, those paying way more attention than I’m able to muster are counting down to kickoff, keeping us posted on the current and future roster.
But here, your Snarkster in Chief, a guy who has mined his U of L memories over and over and over again, is at a loss.
There are contractual obligations to be met, the fear of action by authorities way above GE’s pay grade, less forgiving types willing to send in the brown shirts for enforcement if necessary.
So, in fit of panic, and a moment I probably shall live to regret, I reach out.
To you, my readers, both kind — the one or two of you — and the vast majority who take apparent delight in reminding me of my wayward gaffes.
With what Cardinal topics might I regale you in the next couple months?
Lists of faves? Games? Players? Rivalries? Game stories as if watching a significant encounter from the past with new eyes?
Moments I’ve surely shared, but you’d like to hear again, worded differently?
How I see the future?
Let me know.
I assume some of your suggestions will intrigue me enough to place my fingers on the keyboard. Some might not. Don’t take it personally.
The Comment section awaits.

The TBT is coming up in July and hopefully will provide some topics for you! Lead up practice sessions. Game days. Follow ups after the Tourney. #GoCards
Indeed. Though my sense has always been that there aren’t enough recent quality alums to make a Cards team a legit competitor. But, yes, a fun exercise.
I guess you could study how U of L can find $20 million in new salaries to pay players, fit it into the budget without any significant cuts or resolution to the current deficit. You could call it Seedy’s Big Beautiful Budget.
On second thought, maybe stick to the TBT.
Remember please, I am not a reporter, but a pundit. If it takes a lot of work, research, phone calls — you know, actual digging into the situation — not going to happen here. I have no inner Woodward and Bernstein.
I thought you were the Culture Maven ‼️There’s clearly a certain reportage involved there – as you have been an eyewitness to many of the most seminal cultural scenes of the last 8 decades ❤️ On another note, I feel so bad for Tyrese HALIBURTON and the PACERS as that moment last night when he had started Game 7 on such a hummer was so painfully searing & sad. The PACERS resilience was an absolute joy to watch throughout the playoffs – but the air got sucked out of what was setting up to be an epic final game- Kudos to OKC & SGA for an incredible season and well deserved trophy 🏆

As for TBT, maybe, probably. Though I gotta admit, as much as I love him, Russ is starting to wear thin for me. Plus he’s an aging 34 years old.
How does the lowly left tackle maintain his positive, aggressive attitude when the ball is snapped to to the qback who got paid 10x more than he?
Given my understanding of NFL salaries, my guess is good LTs are high up on the food chain of compensation. Very valuable. Nobody anywhere in the game gets QB money.
I’ve got one for you Seedy. My observation through the years is that a good percentage of our fans love to endlessly piss and moan about how the entire world is against U of L. You know, the NCAA, ESPN, the Ky state government, and of course THE F***ING REFS! I know other fan bases have these sorts in their midst as well, but having been around and observed many, it’s my belief that the U of L fan base is world class when it comes to this.
Don’t write about that. Exploit it.
Write a column about YOUR TOP 10 all time screw jobs U of L endured. Absolutely total injustices. By the refs, the NCAA, ESPN, an opposing player getting away with murder. Whatever or whomever you can come up with.
Then invite the commentariat to come up with their top all-time screw jobs that you may have missed, as well as give their opinion on your list. I bet you will get a ton of comments.
