Surrender two defensive scores, and you’re lucky to make it to overtime against a legitimate Top 25 school.
Especially when your once SRO running back room is a MASH unit. Forcing you to throw the ball almost twice as much as rushing it. 48 by air. 27 on the ground, with dismal 2 yards per carry.
Especially when your iffy offensive line puts your QB in peril much of the day, allowing five sacks, five hurries. Plus seven tackles for loss.
U of L ran 75 plays. The OL sabotaged 17 of them. At least.
The resilient but gaffe prone Louisville Cardinals made it to extras on Saturday.
Then expired.
UVa 30, Louisville 27.

Rusty but gladiatorial Isaac Brown dropped a pitch with a bit over six minutes left in the opening quarter. Resulting in a 61 yard scoop and score.
Besieged Miller Moss, frustrated one must assume from the constant pocket pressure he is forced to navigate, tried to do too much with six and a half to go in the 3d Q. Threw an ill advised sidearm as he was being ground into the turf (but not quite fully yet unfortunately).
47 yard Pick Six.
The Hoos added a FG, giving them a ten point cushion with 15:00 to play.
Louisville falls behind.
Louisville fights back.
Sooner or later that trend’s gonna bit ya in the buttocks.
But not before Miller Moss executed a brilliant outside shoulder throw to Chris Bell. Who made an even more amazing one handed snare, with a defender draped over him. Foot down in TD Territory.
Stayin’ Alive.
Cooper Ranvier nailed another ho hum 50 yard three pointer with a minute to go.
Like I said, it is to the Cardinals’ credit they don’t quit.
But it’s October. Lawns are already festooned with All Hallows Eve ghoulery.
The Cards tried to whistle past the graveyard but couldn’t elude the Reaper on Saturday.

Two weeks to prepare for a visit to Miami.
The Cards need it.
The fans need it.

Plus missed field goal and a bad call in OT on the completion that was taken away. Brohm needs to teach Moss how to throw the ball away.
I can’t believe that in year three Brohm’s OL is this bad. They are flat out horrible. They look like an FCS OL. This is especially puzzling given that preseason Brohm was talking them up and saying how excited he was that they were solid, and 9 or 10 deep. This is a disaster, and unfortunately Moss does not look like the ideal QB to have when your OL is garbage. He makes a lot of bad decisions when under pressure, and seems to never know when to throw the ball away. I’m not sure he threw it away a single time today. The defense was supposed to be the big unknown and potential weakness. This offense is profoundly disappointing, and it all starts with the garbage OL.
You must remember we had trouble run blocking against EKU, James Madison, Bowling Green, Pitt and today. What is the surprise. The big bowl Championship teams have the money to out bid us for portal talent and then some. They can take a possible marginal guy for their team just to keep him away from their opponents if he could develop or is a sleep.
And, it is only going to get worse in the future. We cannot financially compete with the big boys. The gap will get wider as I see it.
I don’t think anybody here is surprised at the woeful OL play. We’ve been seeing it all season.
What I’m surprised about is that they are this bad in year three. I wasn’t implying that I wasn’t surprised until today. Yes I saw it the previous three games (EKU not so much). In fact, I walked into the stadium dreading the worst from them, but hoping for some improvement.
I can’t really make any sense out of what you are trying to say. Fyi…UVa, Pitt, and JMU are not “big boys”. I agree we will never have lines the likes of OSU and the like, but we have not played a “big boy” caliber team. UVa, Pitt, and JMU do not have more money than us, and I seriously doubt that Miami does.
Our OL was actually pretty good last season.
Just a comment on the resiliency of the Detroit Tigers – Carpenter is amazing and McKistry always shows up at the most opportune moments – Now the entire baseball world gonna be tuning in tonight to watch Skubal work his magic‼️ Happy for you Seedy –
